Chandrabose is one of the most celebrated lyricists of Indian cinema, whose words have shaped the emotional and cultural fabric of Telugu films. Born on May 10, 1972, in Challagariga, Warangal district, to Smt.Madunamma and Sri. Narasayya, his journey from rural Telangana to global acclaim is deeply inspiring.

A B.Tech graduate, he made his film debut with Taj Mahal and penned his first song “Manchukondallona Chandrama.” Over the years, he has written more than 3,600 songs across nearly 850 films, spanning romance, folklore, social themes, and poetic
philosophy.

Global & National Recognition
Chandrabose created history as the first Indian film lyricist to win an Oscar for “Naatu Naatu,” also becoming the first Asian lyricist to receive a Golden Globe Award. His international honors include the Critics’ Choice Award and the Hollywood Critics Association Award, placing Telugu cinema on the world stage. He is a recipient of the 69th National Film Award for Best Lyricist (Kondapolam) and multiple Nandi Awards, along with Filmfare, SIIMA, and numerous prestigious literary honors.
Beyond Cinema
His work has earned academic recognition through a doctoral thesis on his film literature. He has judged over 500 episodes of music reality shows and is currently a judge on Padutha Theeyaga. He also served as Brand Ambassador of NATA (USA) for four years.

Lt Col (Dr) S. Srinivasa Rao

Advisory Board Member – GMR International School

S Srinivasa Rao is a distinguished Indian Army veteran with over 32 years of exemplary service, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel after holding several key leadership, training, and administrative roles across the country. Commissioned through the Indian Military Academy, he has served in counter-insurgency operations, elite training establishments, Olympic sports missions, and major national and international events.

A PhD holder in Sports Coaching and Nutrition, Lt Col (Dr) Rao brings rare expertise at the intersection of discipline, leadership, physical education, youth development, and security management. He has coached and managed Indian Army and national sports teams, contributed to Olympic and Commonwealth Games missions, and served as an international judge in bodybuilding and weightlifting.

Deeply committed to nation-building and youth empowerment, he has led extensive social outreach initiatives, training and mentoring thousands of underprivileged youth for education, sports excellence, and armed forces careers. His work has resulted in the successful selection of over 1,400 youth into the Indian Armed Forces, including Agniveer recruits.

Ms. Kelly Hawkins

Advisory Board Member –

Ms. Kelly Hawkins is a compassionate mental health professional and trauma-informed therapist who brings a strong child-centered perspective to the Advisory Board of GMR International School.

She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Milwaukee, USA, and is licensed as an Advanced Practice Social Worker (APSW). With several years of experience supporting children and families, including her work as a family advocate, Ms. Kelly has helped young learners develop emotional strength, confidence, and resilience.

Ms. Kelly firmly believes that every child can succeed when guided with empathy, encouragement, and belief in their abilities. Her international exposure through studies in London and Bolivia, along with travel across Europe, South America, and India, has shaped her deep respect for cultural diversity and Indian values—closely aligning with GMR’s educational philosophy.

Her presence on the Advisory Board strengthens GMR’s commitment to student well-being, emotional balance, and holistic development.

Dr. Anitha Kommu

Advisory Board Member –

Dr. Anitha Kommu is a distinguished scientist, educator, and global academic mentor who brings strong expertise in science, research, and education to the Advisory Board of GMR International School.

She earned her PhD from IIT Kanpur and completed postdoctoral research in Chemical Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Wyoming and the University of Texas, USA. Dr. Anitha has also served as Associate Professor at NIT Warangal and Osmania University, mentoring students and nurturing scientific thinking.

Currently, she works as a Scientist at Kenvue, the world’s largest consumer health company, and has previously served at Johnson & Johnson, gaining valuable global industry experience.

Deeply committed to student guidance, Dr. Anitha has counselled many learners on higher studies and global opportunities, helping shape bright academic futures. Her journey inspires students to build strong foundations, think globally, and pursue excellence in science.
